Dr. Van’s Digital Study Club! | Oral Surgeon in Minnetonka, MN - Excelsior & Minnetonka, MN

Offering Doctors The Chance To Learn From Our Expert

Hello, Digital Doctors!

Our oral surgeon and team at Facial Designs, P.A. know the value of continuing education, and we go above and beyond to stay up to date on the latest dental technology, techniques and conversations in the dental field. That is why Dr. Roderick VanSurksum has started a local dental study group. The Digital Study Club meetings will provide some great discussion and information sharing, and they will allow us all to get out of the office for a bit and meet our fellow colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere.

DR. VAN’S DIGITAL STUDY CLUB!

Our goal is to educate and equip dental professionals with the knowledge needed to provide their patients with predictable outcomes by integrating our digital imaging and information gathering equipment with CAD/CAM technologies. By implementing this process into our practices, we can “give the patient what they really want” and be confident we can do this in a cost-effective way while achieving our anticipated results. Doing this well is a team effort between the restorative dentist, the specialist and the CAD/CAM technicians. Let’s explore this together!

FEBRUARY INAUGURAL MEETING

Our inaugural Digital Study Club meeting provided some great discussion and information sharing and allowed us to get out of the office for a bit and meet our fellow colleagues in the relaxed atmosphere of the Pique Travel building in Excelsior. Ryan Johnson of OpenByte Dental in St. Paul gave a fascinating and informative introductory talk on digital workflow for patients, starting with an initial evaluation and culminating with immediate delivery of an implant-supported prosthesis. Our objective in the following sessions is to now dig deep into the different phases of treatment so that we all become comfortable with the entire “digital flow” process. As a study group, our main focus will be on educating and equipping dentists and dental professions with the skills and knowledge they need to provide predictable outcomes for they patients using digital imaging and information gathering technology, such as CAD/CAM equipment. By working together to find the best ways to incorporate these processes into our practices, we can meet the individual needs of each patient, achieving the results they want in a cost-effective manner. This requires effective cooperation between dental specialists, restorative dentists and CAD/CAM technicians. We’ll continue to explore this fascinating subject together with two additional meetings this winter and spring, followed ed up next fall with additional discussions as well as some hands-on learning experiences!
