As a prosthodontist, Dr. Clark-Gold completed a three-year advanced residency training after dental school to specialize in the restoration and replacement of damaged or missing teeth. This expertise enables him to manage complex cases with an emphasis on functionality, esthetics, and long-term success. By combining detailed treatment planning with restorative precision, Dr. Clark-Gold helps patients achieve smiles that look natural and feel strong, working seamlessly with our surgical team and other specialists in the community to deliver optimal outcomes.
Training, Education & Professional Background
Originating from Tacoma, Washington, Dr. Clark‑Gold began his academic journey at Carroll College in Helena, Montana, where he studied biology. During his undergraduate years, he was a member of the men’s golf team, performed piano weekly in the campus band and worked as a dental assistant, which confirmed his calling to dentistry.
He went on to attend the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he earned multiple honors, including:
- The Frederick K. Noble Scholarship for Pre‑Clinical Excellence
- The Raymond G. Gill Award for Excellence in Fixed Prosthodontic
- The American College of Prosthodontists Undergraduate Achievement Award
With strong mentorship and a growing passion for complex restorative care, he pursued prosthodontic specialty training. In 2021, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and was accepted into the University of Minnesota’s Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. During his three‑year residency, he developed advanced skills in diagnosing, planning, and treating patients with severely worn, damaged, or missing teeth, deepening his expertise in dentures, dental implants, esthetic dentistry, and digital workflows. He also served as Chief Resident in his final year.
Upon completing his residency, Dr. Clark‑Gold earned his Certificate in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry degree for his research in dental implant mechanics.
Today, Dr. Clark‑Gold is proud to be part of the Facial Designs, P.A. team. When he is not treating his patients at Facial Designs, Dr. Clark-Gold serves as Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Division of Prosthodontics at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.
Big Waters Study Club
The Big Waters Study Club brings high‑quality, collaborative continuing education to the Twin Cities dental community. Hosted by Dr. Roderick VanSurksum and Dr. Zane Clark‑Gold, the club is part of the nationally recognized Spear Education Study Club network, one of the most advanced CE groups in the country.
Our mission is to create a supportive space where dentists can learn together, discuss real‑world cases, and strengthen interdisciplinary communication. By sharing knowledge across the entire dental team; dentists, hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff, we grow as a community and elevate the level of care we deliver every day.
