MEET ORAL SURGEON, Dr. Roderick VanSurksum
Dr. Roderick VanSurksum is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 20 years of experience.
Dr. VanSurksum graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1990. After graduation, he attended residency programs specializing in hospital training and oral and maxillofacial surgery. During his time in the military, Dr. VanSurksum practiced dentistry abroad helping patients address oral and maxillofacial ailments.
Dr. VanSurksum’s goal is to create a welcoming, patient-centered practice striving to provide the highest quality patient care.
Dr. VanSurksum specializes in total mouth rehabilitation, using a combination of oral surgery services to customize treatment plans to you.

MEET Prosthodontist, Dr. Zane Clark-Gold
Originating from the Pacific Northwest in Washington state, Dr. Zane Clark-Gold began his educational journey at Carroll College in Helena, Montana, where he studied biology. Over those four years, he played for the men’s golf team and the campus band as a pianist, while also working as a dental assistant, confirming his hope to become a dentist. He was then accepted to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he was awarded the Frederick K. Noble Scholarship for Pre-Clinical Excellence, the Raymond G. Gill Award for Excellence in Fixed Prosthodontics, and the American College of Prosthodontics Undergraduate Achievement Award.
Throughout his dental studies, with strong mentor support, he realized his skill and passion for the specialty of prosthodontics. In 2021, he received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery and was accepted into the University of Minnesota Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. During his three-year residency, he acquired the skills required to diagnose, plan, and treat patients with severely damaged or worn teeth, furthering his interests in dentures, dental implants, esthetic, and digital dentistry. He was also selected to serve as Chief Resident in his third year.
Upon completion of residency, he obtained his Certificate in Prosthodontics as well as a Master of Science Degree for his research in implant abutment screw mechanics. Dr. Clark-Gold is incredibly grateful to join the Facial Designs team and is eager to provide his patients with the evidence-based specialty care they deserve to restore the ability to function and smile once again.
